Las Vegas is the perfect place to spot the next big investing opportunity…
If you are an investor, you are in the driver’s seat.
If you like an investment opportunity, you don’t have to sit around and wait for someone else to approve it. You can go out, find it, and invest your hard-earned money.
You are the boss.
And this week in Las Vegas, we are going to be on the ground, networking at our inaugural NICI Retreat. Executives from cannabis companies will be attending, presenting, and setting up booths.
The Institute members who purchased tickets earlier this year will also be doing some networking of their own (be on the lookout for the 2020 National Institute for Cannabis Investor’s Retreat if you’re a new member).
It’s this type of networking the Silicon Valley elite do, and you never know how a chance encounter could lead to investing in the next potential Facebook, Airbnb, or Uber.
This conference provides a great opportunity to network and be on a first-name basis with company founders.
I’ll be carving out some time to meet with executives and getting to know their plans for the future.
There will be a lot of companies fighting for attention.
Private cannabis companies need to know how to scale.
Of course, before any of that happens, it all starts out with the right idea.
For instance, take a look at cannabis lounges. The tourists in Las Vegas can’t smoke cannabis in their hotel rooms, so a cannabis lounge may seem like a good idea.
Let’s say you meet a startup that wants to launch cannabis lounges all over Nevada.
While it may seem like a good idea on the surface, is it really the best solution?
Is there a lot of money to be made from cannabis lounges?

Now, take a look at it from another angle.
If an impressive cannabis startup really wanted to solve the problem, they would take a different, more scalable approach than just opening up lounges.
An approach that could be far more profitable.
For example, CannabCo Pharmaceutical Corp. is a startup that is trying to make an odorless variety of marijuana.
If it’s odorless, that solves the problem of hotels, vacation properties, and other rentals worrying about the smell.
And although cannabis needs to be federally legal before Vegas hotels would consider allowing smoking in rooms, it’s easy to assume they would be much more open to it if the cannabis was odorless.
This is how companies create scalable ideas – and generate a ton of money.
Keep an eye out this week to hear more from myself and my team as we take on Vegas at the first annual National Institute for Cannabis Investor’s Retreat.
